You will not go wrong.

Review introduction
So far I’ve had it for just over 3 weeks and even though I’m an “Apple guy” and thought I would have preferred to buy the (discontinued) Apple HomePod, I’m 100% glad I didn’t.

The Apple HomePod will run you $399.00, while the Amazon Echo Studio will run you $259.99. I’ve tested the sound quality and loudness on both and my suggestion is that you save yourself the $140 and go with the Echo.
You absolutely will not regret it.
Integration of Echo with Apple products
Integrating Amazon Echo with my Apple products was a real breeze. I had to search the net for confirmation (not help) that indeed integration could be done, and it was so.
I didn’t need to search the web for any help in setting up my Echo Studio at all.
Connecting Echo Studio as a speaker
The bottom line is you’re going to want to use the Echo as a speaker. Who wouldn’t?
Setting it up as a speak is extremely easy and this is how you do it:
- Turn on your Echo Studio speaker
- Go to your bluetooth settings on your Apple device
- When you see the Echo device in your bluetooth list, select it
- Let Echo and your Apple device connect
- Turn up the volume and enjoy your music
Now, whenever I use any software that uses audio or video on my Mac Book or iMac, my Echo speaker picks it up.
I was really that simple.
Echo speaker performance
I initially tested the Echo as a local BestBuy. I was previously planning on buying and had tested the Apple HomePod and that day I was compelled to purchase one.
The BestBuy rep indicated there were none in stock, and gave me some advice on other similar types of speaker-pods.
Out of about 5 other equally higher-priced speaker-pod tests, the Amazon Echo Studio easily came out on top. It was actually cheaper than an other Amazon speaker which was no where as comparable in performance.
It has a strong smooth sounding base, and it is loud. I didn’t need to be convinced that this is the speaker I need, and for that fairly low but totally reasonable price.
Using Alexa is easy
To set up Alexa on my Echo speaker I simply downloaded the Amazon Alexa app, paired my phone and Echo, and went through the setup wizard on the app.
Less than 3 minutes later, Alexa was answering my questions from my Echo speaker.

The shipping experience
I ordered the Echo Studio speaker directly from the Amazon website. As I mentioned above, BestBuy didn’t have any of them in stock either.
Shipping was fast (I have Amazon Prime) and the Echo arrived the following day before 5:00pm.
It was packed nicely, firmly, and opening the box was easy.
All I had to do is plug it in and follow the instructions explained above in any areas you don’t quite understand yet.
